Don Freedman spoke May 30, 2013 on legal and financial issues for families dealing with younger-onset dementia at the offices of the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, in Watertown. The workshop focussed on the unique issues faced by people under the age of 65 diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and by their families. Topics covered included disengagement from work, dealing with declining capacity, disability insurance, health insurance, Social Security Disability, driving, Medicare, MassHealth coverage of nursing home and home- and community-based services and planning for long-term care.
