posted april 29, 2013

Kristin Shirahama served as a trainer for the Women's Bar Foundation Elder Law Project on April 29, 2013. The Women's Bar Foundation pairs volunteer lawyers with low-income seniors to assist them with their basic estate planning needs. Kristin trained a group of volunteer lawyers on how to prepare basic estate plans, including Health Care Proxies, Medical Directives, Durable Powers of Attorney and Wills for their elder pro bono clients. "I love the Women's Bar Foundation Elder Law Project and am proud to participate in the program as a trainer and mentor for volunteer attorneys. Planning for incapacity is so important for seniors as they age, regardless of their means. The Project meets this important need for many elders, lacking the means to hire an attorney, who would otherwise go unprotected."
